Advances in Meshfree Particle Methods for Fluid Mechanics

This session highlights the latest advances in development and application of meshfree particle methods that can be effectively used for solving the most challenging fluid mechanics problems, specially those beyond the capabilities of conventional mesh-based methods. From this symposium, we hope to gain better insight into the challenges, latest advancements and applications of the meshfree particle methods which include (but are not limited to) smoothed particle hydrodynamics method (SPH), moving particle semi-implicit method (MPS), discrete element method (DEM) and particle finite element method (PFEM).
