Adjoint methods have seen widespread interest and adoption by the computational mechanics community. These methods are useful for both goal oriented error estimation and sensitivity analysis. This minisymposium aims to showcase the incorporation of adjoint methods in software libraries. The emphasis will be on novel implementations of such methods, and the significant challenges encountered in adopting adjoint methods for generalized and large scale computational codes.
